Does Hair normally Shed?Updated a year ago

Shedding is a natural occurrence with hair extensions, just as it is with our own natural hair. It is important to understand that when you first receive the extensions, there may be an initial shedding phase where more hair than usual may fall out. However, rest assured that this shedding will gradually decrease over time.

To minimize shedding and properly care for your extensions, we recommend following these steps:

1. Brushing Technique: When brushing the hair, start from the bottom and work your way up using an extension brush or a wet brush specifically designed for extensions. Avoid using brushes with boar bristles or similar harsh bristles that can cause unnecessary tension on the hair.

2. Avoid Brushing Wet Hair: It's crucial to avoid brushing the hair when it is wet, as wet hair is more susceptible to breakage. Gently towel-dry or air-dry your extensions before brushing or styling.

3. Conditioning Routine: Incorporate leave-in conditioners and deep conditioners into your washing routine. Look for products that are sulfate, paraben, and silicone-free, as these ingredients can weigh down the hair and potentially contribute to shedding.

4. Protect the Weft: Try to minimize getting the weft of the extensions wet as much as possible. While it's difficult to entirely avoid contact with water, taking precautions to keep the weft dry during activities such as swimming or showering can help prolong the lifespan of your extensions.

By following these care instructions, you can help maintain the quality and minimize shedding of your hair extensions. Remember that some shedding is normal, but with proper care and maintenance, you can enjoy beautiful, long-lasting extensions.
